fate.

I've never been the sort of person who believes in fate or the one or "everything happens for a reason" but recently something has started to change my mind. You might remember these shoes from my August Wishlist. They were on Nasty Gal for $145 but with shipping and the currency exchange I was looking at paying about $250 and I just couldn't justify the cost.

A few weeks later I signed up to ebay after a self-imposed six year ban due to a little bit of an ebay addiction. The first shoes I saw were leopard platforms, not as pretty as the Jeffrey Campbell ones but they were cute and in my size and going for about $50. I bid, I won and I asked the seller if it was okay for me to pay them a few days later. When the day I was going to pay came around suddenly the seller was no longer a registered ebay user and then some things started to add up - the fact that they had asked me to deposit the money into their bank account instead of paypal, the fact that they were selling some other things using only stock photos - basically it become pretty clear that they were a scammer so I was lucky I hadn't paid but I was really sad I wasn't going to get my dream shoes.

About a week after that I was sadly browsing ebay when I saw my dream shoes! Jeffrey Campbell leopard platforms in my size and at a reasonable price. I got some advice from ebay experts (don't bid until the last 30 seconds), I set alarms on my phone to remind me and everything came together perfectly and I won. A few days later they were delivered to my door and we have been living happily ever since.

I still don't believe in fate or "the one" when it comes to dudes, but with shoes... well I'm starting to think it's a different story.

platforms: jeffrey campbell (via ebay), dress: silence & noise

Love leopard print :) Nice dress too, even the length because it elongates the legs.
