I didn't wear shorts for about ten years, maybe longer. I had them on that list in my head of 'clothes fat girls can't wear' (along with baggy tshirts with horizontal stripes for that matter) but last summer, after seeing girl after girl wearing denim cut offs and looking amazing, I decided fuck it. Fuck the whole idea of any clothes fat girls can't wear and I went and bought some jeans, cut them into shorts and wore them all summer. Now that it's getting a bit sunnier here in cold, wet Melbourne I'm pulling the shorts back out.
